Guidelines for Answering Santa’s Mail

A letter from Santa is a “REAL BIG DEAL” to these children.

We here at Santa’s Heart take this task very serious and we offer these guidelines to assist you in maintaining the Magic of Christmas.

Remember Who The Letter Is From...

This letter must be written as if from the “Hand of Santa Claus”. Answering the big Mans’ mail is a real privilege and he wants it done a certain way.  Handwritten letters are incredible treasures it your hand writing is very clear and legible. However typing or using a word processor is fine just remember to sign the letter for Santa.

We like using ink pens with Christmas colors to sign printed letters.

Use A Simple Letter Formula

Start the letter with a greeting that includes the child’s name. Please add in a greetings to any other person mentioned in the child’s letter. Imagine their joy in sharing a letter from Santa with someone who got mentioned by name.

Then write an introduction acknowledging having received the letter and comment on it in a general and positive manner. Add in how  “Santa” really enjoy the letters from “School's Name” (The school that sponsored the letter writing event if known).

The introduction is also a good place to volunteer general information about the activities that Santa is currently involved in and how Santa really enjoys this time of year.

Now you need to respond to the questions that the children have asked. Try to craft answers which would express Santa's well known viewpoint, knowing that a child’s imagination is so very vivid. These questions should be addressed and the answers should be general in nature, and direct questions should be handled delicately and never have a blunt answer.  As an example, if Santa is asked what reindeer is his favorite, the proper response would indicate that he has no favorites, and each one is special and all of them are needed to make the sleigh fly. NEVER mention anyone that is not listed in the letter. For example, if you make a statement that mentions Mommy and Daddy and one of them is no longer in the home it could cause distress. No one wants that to happen.

Now close the letter and don’t forget to add that Santa wishes them a Merry Christmas and most parents really appreciate Santa reminding the child to be good during the coming year.

P.S. Remember that children love Post Script comments too!

Thank you for support the children
